Yesterday, I went to the cafeteria downstairs where I work to grab something for lunch at my desk. It was just one of those days, you know, where you give up and eat lunch at your desk. I stopped at the display of food at the cafeteria entrance, trying to decide on something fake-healthy for [...]

Super Elastic Blog Plastic
December 12th, 2009 · No Comments
If my blog looks a little odd for a bit, it’s because I’m working on a new design using the Elastic Editor. Fun to play with and I’m learning things, too.

Disney Adds The Magic of LEDs to the Castle
May 1st, 2009 · No Comments
My wife found a really kewl article about how Walt Disney World Resort is now using environmentally friendly LEDs to light the castle. From the article: In the end, Walt Disney World Entertainment replaced a total of 34 arc-source fixtures with 74 five-watt LED fixtures, cutting the total power requirements by at least 40 percent [...]

Thanksgiving
November 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Meant to post this on Thanksgiving, but the turkey made me groggy: Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t [...]

Listening: The Weakerthans – “Tournament of Hearts”
August 11th, 2008 · No Comments
New video from their current album. I love this song because it sounds like hockey. Or maybe, as the video suggests, curling. I’m not Canadian, but I pretended I was while I was in Vancouver, eh?

Alaska Cruise, Day 6 – Sitka, Part 1
August 11th, 2008 · No Comments
Sitka was one of the most enjoyable ports we visited. Ignore my expression in most of the pictures; I really was having a good time, but I was at the absolute lowest ebb of my energy levels so I look grumpy. The port is a tender port, meaning you have to take small boat from [...]

Water With Lime, Would You Like A Solution To Global Warming With That?
July 22nd, 2008 · No Comments
Could this be true? Fascinating, if so. There seems to be a way reverse global warming by adding lime (the mineral, not the fruit) to seawater.
